Twenty years of sporadic violence, which has on occasion turned into civil war, means that Somalia’s displaced population comprises a huge number of widows and orphans.
As part of its emergency relief policy, Ummah Welfare Trust prioritises widowed mothers and orphaned children. Alhamdulillah, efforts in Somalia have reflected this.
The charity recently constructed new homes for 35 widowed families displaced in the Banaadir region. Homes were constructed for families living in the districts of Dayniile, Hodan, Wadji, Karan and Dharkenley.
Alhamdulillah, in total, 35 widows and 161 orphaned children now have a roof over their head. Ummah Welfare Trust asks Allah to accept the donations that made this possible.
